OUR PASSION
The Floral Hanger's passion of clothing resale is based on an effort to help eliminate excess textile waste from our landfills in addition to combating the negative impacts of fast fashion.
TEXTILE WASTE
Harmony Enterprises, Inc. is an equipment company founded in 1962, established on the concern of cardboard incineration causing air pollution. In one of their blog posts, they state: "The U.S. EPA estimates that textile waste occupies nearly 5% of all landfill space. While the EPA estimates that the textile recycling industry recycles approximately 3.8 billion pounds of post-consumer textile waste (PCTW) each year, this only accounts for approximately 15% of all PCTW, leaving 85% in our landfills."
